Inner Skin is an interdisciplinary project bringing together painting, performance, movement, sound and text. Developed through a series of paintings on paper and culminating in a large hand-dyed canvas, the work explores the shifting relationship between body and surface, where painting becomes both an image and a site of embodied action.

Created during a month-long residency at Zaratan Arte Contemporânea in Lisbon, the project draws on research into seventeenth-century healers—often labelled "witches"—and the layered histories of Bairro Alto, a historic neighbourhood in Lisbon. Through painting as a performative and restorative act, Inner Skin reflects on memory, healing, and the ways marginalised histories continue to inhabit contemporary landscapes.
