Inner Skin is a performance-based video combining painting, movement, sound, and text. Drawing on research into 17th-century healers—often labelled “witches”—in Lisbon, it explores the shifting relationship between body and canvas, where surfaces become animate and marginalised histories emerge through embodied action.

Developed during a month-long residency at Zaratan Arte Contemporânea, the work draws on the layered histories of Bairro Alto, where beneath the contemporary surface lies a past shaped by women’s knowledge, healing practices, and resistance.
